Celebrated Maine author Elizabeth Peavey and “Maine's Funniest Mom” Karen Morgan present Finding ME, a hilarious and heartwarming look at how these two very different women came to call the Pine Tree State home, even though it was the last thing either of them ever expected.

Bath native Elizabeth Peavey had an idyllic Maine childhood, yet, something – namely, the family television set – told her life “out there” was more glamorous. From a very early age, she wanted nothing more than to ditch her small-town roots and see the world – and, starting as a teen, she did just that. With years of travel that took her from the tip of Tasmania to the top of the Isle of Skye, one question remains: What the heck is she doing home?

Karen Morgan was born in Athens, Georgia, and reared in the traditions of sweet tea, beauty pageants and college football. Her ambition to remain a Southern belle, complete with hyphenated married name on her subscription to Southern Living Magazine, was going along just as planned...when she met a man from Maine and fell in love. She asks herself almost on a daily basis: How is it possible that I am living above the Mason-Dixon line?

Elizabeth Peavey is the author of Outta My Way: An Odd Life Lived Loudly and of Maine & Me: 10 Years of Down East Adventures, which was awarded the 2006 Maine Literary Award for Best Maine-themed Book. Her essays and articles appear frequently in Down East Magazine, where she has been a contributing editor since 1997. Her monthly humor column, “Outta My Yard,” can be found at thebollard.com.

Karen Morgan made her national television debut as a finalist on Nick at Nite's Search for the Funniest Mom in America. Since then, this former trial lawyer has performed in comedy clubs and theatres nationwide. Karen has a syndicated radio spot, The Mother Load, on The Coast morning show and can also be heard on Sirius/XM radio. She is the only comedian to be featured by Nestle® brands in their national campaign.

These unlikely friends met, via email, as Peavey was recovering from post-colonoscopy sedation. The rest, as they say, is history.
